A fine example of the alluring white color-type with red line in throat. At the time of its award citation in 1992 the flowers of this cultivar were especially commended for their exceptional flatness. Flower dimensions of a 'natural spread' of 11 cm. and a 'petal width' of 2.9 cm. One of our favorite species for outdoor hardiness it is tested temperature tolerant to 28F for 2 hours. In areas with wet cold winters the plants prefer to be under winter cover, in higher winter light, and grown mounted, or in slatted baskets with no mix.

The most famous, and successful, breeding quality Laelia anceps. The petals are opaque white and have a shapely fullness; the lip is white with a green and gold throat patterned in maroon stripes. Very strong floral substance (sturdy flower parts). Former winner of Best in Show at the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show! This top quality L. anceps undoubtedly deserves the moniker of "King"!

A beautifully shaped Laelia anceps from the 'Pink Perfection strain' breeding line. Flower petal color is clear soft pink, darker along the midline of the petals; the lip is a creamy white with purple and more pink on the edge, and the throat is yellow with red lines. When awarded by the American Orchid Society, the flower had a natural spread of 9.8 cm and a petal width of 4.5 cm.
