Exquisite blossoms adorn this primary hybrid from the islands surrounding Madagascar. Creamy-white flowers bloom singly, each 1.5 inches across, with long and slender petals that gracefully sweep downward with the green-tinted nectar spur. The delicate appearance of the blooms contrasts beautifully with the strong monopodial (fan-like) foliage.
The region of Madagascar is famed for its moth-pollinated, night fragrant orchids and this hybrid's parents contribute that fascinating quality. It is from the cross between Jumellea arachnantha, from the cool forests of the Comoros Islands, and Jumellea fragrans, from both the warm and cool forest areas of Mauritius and Reunion.
