This shapely Encyclia primary-hybrid is from the cross between the extraordinary Encyclia mooreana and the rare Encyclia fowliei. The flowers have an elegant and distinctive roundness to their petals and overall shape, a trait passed down fromE. fowliei.
The flower color of these seedlings ranges between hues of brassy green to tawny amber with veination patterns in olive to fawn, and the showy white lip has a pronounced pink mark. The three-quarter inch flowers bloom along a spray that is arching to upright from compact foliage around ten inches tall. Some may even bloom with fragrance, like their E. mooreana parent.
Established first-bloom seedlings. 'Seedlings' are the offspring of pollination; as siblings they may be similar, yet each is unique and no two are identical in precise color or shape. There is no way to tell ahead of time exactly what coloration each seedling will display. Enjoy the surprise!
