A stately hybrid from two of the most beautiful Brazilian miniatures: Cattlya jongheana and Cattleya pumila. This plant is the only awarded cultivar! A crystalline, pale lavender-pink flower, with a deep yellow throat, and a uniquely marbled lip of berry-purple and cream. The flowers open to about 3 inches across, and produce a subtle and sweet aroma once mature. These plants can grow into stunning specimens that don't take up too much room or weigh too much.
Once part of a group termed 'hadrolaelias', this type of miniature Brazilian orchid possesses a special botanical characteristic: the new growth produces its leaf neatly folded (instead of a separate flower sheath), protecting the developing flower bud enveloped within it.
