This intriguing species, the range of which spans across both sub-tropical and temperate Southern Brazil, grows well both outdoors and in intermediate conditions. It remains vigorous even when our unheated shade-house drops in temperature to 28 degrees! Its delicate flowers are white and burgundy, and produce a light, tangy scent. Another remarkable quality of this species is its "reaching" growth habit: its dainty pseudobulbs connect with long, slender rhizomes that often arch out and down allowing the root clusters to cascade in the air! Because of this it makes a gorgeous specimen either cascading down from a hanging basket, or when trained up and across a fence! Ours have been grown in hanging pots, but should easily transplant.
