SBOE’s Summer Open House will be July 17th-19th, 2026
Featuring Cattleya purpurata, tenebrosa, bicolor, and tigrina & Encyclias.  All weekend, posters and artifacts will illustrate Paul Gripp’s life as a boy and his orchid years.

Paul Gripp’s Public Memorial will be Saturday July 18th, 2026 4pm-6pm on the Central Lawn of Santa Barbara Orchid Estate.  Attendees are encouraged to wear their orchid society/plant society affiliation name badge.  To encourage conviviality, Paul-appropriate refreshments will be served during the 2 hours (2 pm-4pm) before the official memorial to both memorial attendees and customers.

2026 SBOE Regular Open Days & Hours:
Fridays 10am-2pm
Saturdays 9am-3:30pm
(Reservations are not required, but before travelling a long distance, we strongly recommend re-confirming by e-mail, on website, or by phone the day before visiting in case of unexpected closure.)

2026 Extra Open Days on Holiday Weekends:

Memorial Day: usual open days, +open Sunday May 24th & Monday May 25th 10am-2pm.

Independence Day: usual open Friday, closed Saturday July 4th, +open Sunday July 5tht & Monday July 6th 10am-2pm.

Labor Day: usual open days, +open Sunday September 6th & Monday September 7th  10am-2pm.
