A famous species, with its lovely green petals and uniquely breathtaking white lip. A key feature of this species, distinctive to its exceptional beauty, is the highly unusual texture of the lip edge which is 'fimbriated' (possesses hair-like frills). It is said that if you measured along the lip, around every 'frill', the circumference would total between 20 and 30 feet!
Because it is pollinated by moths in nature the blossoms also produce a sweet fragrance at night. This flower is so admired by hybridizers that it is officially registered as a parent in 428 crosses! One reason for its popularity among is its' resilience : one of our customers didn't water his for 2 months and it was fine!
This exquisite orchid thrives and blooms best when grown in bright, indoor conditions, but can be grown with some success outdoors in Cymbidium conditions as long as it protected from winter rains. Plants offered here are seedlings 1-2 years from bloooming.
