Back in 1910 when the plant exporter, the mysterious Mr. Ghose, telegraphed his collecter up in Myanmar to bring back some more of the "sweet smelling" cymbidium, the collecter brought back the only sweet smelling cymbidium he knew; the one we know today as suavissimum. The species Mr. Ghose was referring to was tracyanum, but we are glad this one was brought instead. This species does not usually bloom every season, but does so with profusion when it does. Lightly scented.Cool growing. August - September blooming. Species from Burma.
